I see Eureka as a dynamic and diverse community that is the hub of our North Coast regional community. Our evolution here at the local level will have a transformative impact throughout Humboldt County that will require proven experienced leadership.
We need to partner with our education institutions and unions to create and bring forward living-wage jobs for our working class families need while we collaborate with business owners on their needs and aspirations for success. Let's build the Mutual Aid our community needs and deserves.
Let's create the policies that establish, improve, and modernize our land-use to build mixed-use developments and provide low-cost housing. We can accommodate our working-class families and preserve our local identitywithout sprawling into the natural spaces.
Public safety must include multi-layered solutions that: strengthens disaster preparedness and mitigation provide through infrastructure improvements ( water, water, roads, etc.), protects our local supply chains, and addresses the root causes of homelessness by having specialized teams to help manage mental health crises rather than criminalize conditions.
